The Oscars!

I love the Oscars!  Wondering who's going to win and, more importantly obviously, the anticipation and then excitement of seeing what everyone's wearing - who's going to knock it out of the park and who is going to end up in the 'What were they thinking' pages.

I thought matte lips stole the show this year with Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain absolutely nailing it.  Anne's pink lips are so current and pretty whilst Jessica Chastain's red lip just oozes Hollywood glamour and the gold really makes her blue eyes pop.

Another gorgeous matte lip, this time from Amanda Seyfried.  The pink lips and mauve eyes are so perfect on her. Youthful and colourful whilst still being classic and Oscars appropriate!

Other faves of mine include Jennifer Lawrence whose Dior gown, make up and hair were classic and timeless. I would have loved to have seen a little more edge from her perhaps but definitely stunning and very Oscars!

Adele rocked her fabulous big hair and eyeliner look and looked hot, as always.

And Charlize Theron looked crazy gorgeous with her cropped hair and Dior gown.

Overall I thought everyone looked great and it was back to old school Hollywood glamour.  Best dressed for me were either Naomi Watts or Jessica Chastain. Both wore Armani Prive.

It was all maybe a little safe, no major disasters or Lara Flynn Boyle moments sadly. Except for Kristen Stewart's ill fitting dress and bad hair day.

I actually thought her make up was really pretty but it didn't seem to go with her outfit.  Maybe she had a last minute panic and changed her dress and hair.  I know I can sympathise!

I've been eyeing up the gorgeous speckled eyeliner by Illamasqua and plan to give it a go tomorrow.

http://www.illamasqua.com/explore/tutorials/speckled-eye-liner/

I had a quick play tonight to see if, instead of buying Scribe white eyeliner I could use my Intrigue blusher mixed with Illamasqua's Sealing Gel. It worked out great so full steam ahead tomorrow!

Illamasqua's I'mperfection is all fabulous, I recommend a look if you're not already familiar. The green lipgloss Shoot is SO cool.  I really want to buy it but with everything else I need I can't justify it.  Plus I'm not sure how many brides I'd be able to coax into wearing it for their big day. Illamasqua make it look so wearable and covetable by keeping the rest of the look simple.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Illamasqua 'Shoot' Intense lip gloss
And who could not love the brilliantly innovative and super pretty speckled nail varnishes?  So cool, they just make you smile don't they?

Illamasqua Speckled Nail Varnish
Promise to post my speckled eyeliner attempt tomorrow!

I am OBSESSED with the eye make up used in the Chanel Spring/ Summer 2013 shows. I cannot get it out of my head.

The black, glittery smokey eye looks easy to achieve with Chanel's smudgey black eyeliner and Ombre Essentielle eyeshadow in Black Star but the beautiful lashes and netting looks so intricate and pretty, I am desperate to give it a go some time. Wonder which of my sisters will model for this look.

The gowns and headpieces are utterly stunning.  Oh to be a Chanel bride...

Last week I worked with the gorgeous model Adrianna Smentek and director Tom Shepherd at iCandy Studios in South Bermondsy, London.  Tom captures light and movement beautifully.

Click here to see Tom's movie clip in full and I've included a few stills from it below....

Since the shoot was valentines themed, I wanted the make up to be all about the red lip (lipstick is Drench by Illamasqua) and glowing skin so kept the eyes very simple. I think she looks stunning, would love to hear what you all think of the pics and the movie too.

Had a fun day working with Flavour Magazine yesterday, an urban magazine all about promoting up and coming talent.

I met Flawless of Britain's Got Talent fame, did three different looks for the FABULOUS DJ Melody Kane and created a high fashion, heavily contoured look for a beautiful model name Anastasia.

Images coming soon.  Can't wait to share them with you...

Is it February already?

A ridiculous amount of time has passed since my last post!  I've been so busy though and am excited to show you some of the work I've been doing.

Over the last couple of months I've spent a fortune on my kit - buying gorgeous MAC and Illamasqua pigments, foundations for all skin tones, Smashbox primers, and a ton of lip glosses and lipsticks amongst way too many other things.  The Illamasqua sale did very well out of me!

My goodies from the Illamasqua sale this year

Purple and copper pigments by MAC suit Clio's pretty hazel eyes perfectly.
My gorgeous sister, Clio modeling my make up like a pro!

I've worked on two photo shoots and, most exciting for me, I've also been working on my website which has been so much fun.  It's almost ready to go live so I'll be able to share that soon too.

Below are a couple of images from a shoot I did with Shooting Beauty.  It was a great day and the location was gorgeous.

Doesn't sound like much but it's been a busy few months!
